  • Krtashraya Aurodhan Garden 237 Pappammal Koil Street Puducherry India (map)

In this workshop we will travel into the known and unknown territory of our human voice.  We’ll approach this journey through a holistic lens, exploring the relationship between body, movement, soul and sound, liberating our voices to express the vast range of shades and colours that live within us – sounds from the ordinary and the strange to the subtle and ecstatic.

Based on the practice of Playback Theatre, you will be invited to connect with true and meaningful stories from your own lives and to share these in a group context.  With a focus on voice, we will develop the skills needed for transforming these stories into enactments that are rich in empathy and artistry.  We will also practice listening and joining with others in acts of co-creation and group improvisation.  Emphasis will be given to the human voice as a vehicle for evoking atmosphere and emotional depth in the stories we hear.

This workshop is for anyone who wishes to experience the artistic and transformative effects of group-based voice and body work.  No prior performance background is required.
